San Diego Trip: Air and Space Museum

We just returned from our annual and most looked forward to (at least by myself) trip to San Diego. We typically go every July for a week and I have been going since I was a baby myself. We meet my parents out there each year and stay with them in a condo on the beach. It truly is my favorite vacation...my favorite city, beautiful weather and lots of fun activities for both us adults and the kids. I also have a couple friends that live out there and it was especially fun to visit with them this trip. In addition, our good friends, the Paraschos Family were in San Diego the same time as us, so we got to spend some fun time together with them as well. We definitely pack a lot into one week and one of our first stops was to the Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park. Balboa Park is lined with lots of museums, but this year, we thought the boys would really enjoy a museum filled with lots of airplanes. We spent the morning walking around the museum looking at airplanes and even getting to go inside a few. We also got to watch a series of 4-D movies (Lucas loved and Sam was a little scared). They even had a kids section where the kids got to do flight simulators, play on toy airplanes and color. We had a great time! Following the museum, we all headed to Seaport Village for some lunch and walking around time. The Paraschos Family joined us on this particular day and they made our time at the museum extra special. The boys really enjoyed getting to see their friends. What a wonderful day!
Les met a new friend, haha!

Some goofy boys Nikos and Lucas. They had so much fun paling out in San Diego!

Grammy and Sammy checking out some planes.

Lucas posing in front of an engine.

Lucas trying on some official pilots gear! It was a little tight on him I must say, haha! :)

Sam really liked this plane simulator that blew wind at him.

Pilot Lucas looking so official!

Brothers teaming up!

Silly boys jumping around.

Rhodes and Sam coloring some planes.

Sam working on his flight plan, ha! :)

Grammy and Lucas playing in the kids area.

Lucas and Nikos piloting a helicopter.

All the kiddos piled in the helicopter, scary! :)

Theo and Les had to do the flight simulator and they did it twice because Les' controls didn't work the first time. This thing flipped them up, down and all around. No thanks! :)

After the museum, we went to Seaport Village for lunch. Love the smiles on these handsome boys faces. :)

After lunch we decided to have these balloon figures made for the kids. Probably not the best idea as we had to wait for almost an hour in line with tired and grumpy kids. Finally, Sam was happy to get his NEMO balloon figure. Of course, it only stayed inflated for 2 days, after all that, haha! :)

An Angry Birds balloon for Lucas and some ice cream too...who could complain here? :)
