Our precious baby boy, Samuel Lee, was born at 2:40pm on Friday, August 28th. He is a little guy weighing in at 6lbs 14oz and is 17.5 inches long. (Yep...we know he probably wont make the basketball team) Sam's entrance to our world did not come without a scare. What was suppose to be a scheduled c-section turned quickly into an emergency c-section. My blood pressure dropped and Sam's heart rate dropped to the 50's and 60's causing him to go into fetal distress. Everybody at Baptist Hospital was amazing. I have never seen so many doctors and nurses (including Les, who went from daddy mode to medical mode very fast) move around so quickly in order to get us back to the operating room. While I became very fearful, many complimented on how calm I stayed. After a quick delivery our beautiful healthy baby boy was in our arms.
Les and I feel very blessed to have two beautiful boys. Sam is a very happy and content newborn who has been nursing and sleeping very well. He doesn't cry very often (as for now). Lucas has been the best big brother ever. He has handled these transitions amazingly well. Lucas loves to kiss Sam and help with the feedings and diapers. He has also been taking very good care of Mommy during recovery. We are very happy and hope that all of our good fortune continues, as we know that life with two boys can be very chaotic.
