Our Future DREAM HOME "Lot"

Since Les and I were married, we always said that a few years down the road we would build our dream house. So, for the last 4 or 5 months we began our search of lots. Due to the amazing school district we are currently in, we knew that we would stay in the same county, which helped narrow our search of properties. However, searching for the perfect lot that you could build your dream house on and live in for the next 30 years or more, is no easy task. We only want to move one more time, so we wanted to pick it right and we have scrutinized everything very carefully. We had a few key neighborhoods that we focused in on and last week we finally placed an offer on a beautiful 1.72 acre lot with a gorgeous view. I don't want to name the subdivision for security purposes, but it is the gated portion of a popular neighborhood that has scenic views and gorgeous homes. In fact, several celeberties will be living in our same neighborhood (of course there homes will probably be able to eat ours, ha ha). Anyway, today we were pleased to find out that our offer was accepted and this lot was now OURS, hooray!!! Les and I are very excited and have began to draw up some house plans (although we don't plan to begin the process until spring due to holidays and winter not best time to start). I just have to take a moment to brag a little about Les...he's designing the elevation and floor plan of our house (having the same taste is very helpful). Of course we will have to take it to an architecture, our builder and neighborhood for approval, but so far it looks amazing and I'm so proud of Les. Below are a few pictures of our future residence sight and then the sketch that Les has so far designed for our house elevation. Les' parents happened to be driving through Nashville today and we had the opportunity to show them our lot as well. :)

The front gates leading to our portion of the neighborhood.

Our first family shot standing in what will eventually be our front yard.

We were so excited to give Gene and Lonna a sneak preview of our future residence! :)

Looking up towards our lot. Gene is walking up what will eventually be our long driveway.

Looking out towards our beautiful view that we will see out our front windows.

Down the street one direction. Obviously there will be some homes lining the street.

Looking out towards one side of our lot. That house will be our neighbors...it actually was a Make A Wish Foundation house this year.

Looking down the street again. Lots of construction going on.

A rough sketch of the elevation of our house-to-be. Proud to say Les free hand drew this up. We realize there will be many changes and adjustments along the way, but will hopefully look something like this.
