Happy 5th Birthday Lucas

Dear Lucas,

I can't believe that it was 5 years ago that you made me a mom for the first time...the greatest gift of a lifetime.  I will never forget how nervous I was when I first had you, it was a wild ride that took a little bit of time to get used to. I didn't want to mess one thing up, but needed to have triumphs and mistakes in order to raise you the best that I could. You have taught me so many wonderful things about being a mother over the last 5 years. 5 years ago, you were the most beautiful little baby I had ever lied eyes on and to this day you have turned into the most handsome and amazing little boy I could ever hoped you would become. Most importantly, I want you to know how incredibly proud you make daddy and myself...you are truly the apple of our eye and we often talk about how lucky we are that God chose us to be your parents. Not a single day goes by that you don't put a smile on all of our faces and warm each of our hearts. Speaking of hearts, you have a heart of gold and I always tell you to "never change that heart of yours" because you make so many people happy and feel good. It makes me so proud when your teachers tell me how much they love you and enjoy having you around and when my friend of a baby boy tells me she prays her small son will grow to be as sweet as you. You have countless friends that love you too and a little brother that worships the ground you walk on. You should know how loved and appreciated you are Lucas. Not only are you sweet and handsome, but you are smart and funny too! You ask so many good questions and I love your curious nature. Sometimes your questions embarrass us at awkward times, but all and all you make us laugh and have good stories to tell in the future  You do have a very sensitive side and while sometimes we wish you would toughen up some, we also know this is a trait that will mold you into a very well rounded individual someday and also not to mention make one very lucky girl, very happy someday.  Lucas, you truly are the whole package and I want you to know that you have become the son I always dreamed I would have and I thank you for being the wonderful you. Never forget how much we love you sweet boy and thank you for being one fantastic little boy! Happy Birthday, I love you so very much! :)
