San Diego Trip: Our Good Friends Ric And Katrina Stell

While in San Diego, we also got to spend some quality time with some of our good friends, Ric and Katrina Stell. Ric and I have been friends for 12 years and last summer I had the chance to meet his beautiful and incredibly sweet wife Katrina. Since, Katrina has become a good friend of mine and somebody that I truly love spending time with. This summer, we were lucky enough to spend a couple days together and the kids really got to know "Aunt Katrina and Uncle Ric". They are so good with my boys and show them so much love and attention...they make Lucas and Sam feel so special and likewise, Ric and Katrina have become very special to them too. Sam couldn't quite get enough hugs from Katrina and watching them with my boys definitely warms my heart. I only wish we lived closer, but at least it makes the time that we do have together that much more special. Ric works for the city of San Diego as a Lifeguard and Katrina is an EMT and finishing up Nursing School this December, hooray! :) They are both very hard workers, but definitely made a lot of time for us. Ric was so gracious in letting us visit the Lifeguard Headquarters (so very cool) and gave us a full tour and ride on the rescue and fire boats. This was definitely a highlight for the boys (and adults)! :) It was really cool to be a part of his daily life and see where he works. Sam is still talking about growing up to be a Lifeguard just like Uncle Ric. :) Katrina hung out with us on the beach one day and took the boys for their first boogie boarding lesson...they were all smiles out there. We also got to to do some fun dinner outs together! I would say I can't wait to see them again next summer, but better yet, they will be visiting us in Nashville this coming April and WE CANT WAIT!!! :))) Below are a bunch of pictures from some of our time spent with Katrina and Ric...we love and miss you guys!

These next few pictures are so cute! After our boat ride, Ric had the kids try on this lobster hat and looked adorable on them.

Katrina took the boys out for their first official lessons in boogie boarding and they had a BLAST!!!  She was so sweet to do this, the water is freezing, but they all had such a great time and it meant the world to the boys. We are certainly lucky to have Katrina and Ric...they are so much fun!
