Lucas' First Soccer Practice

On Tuesday afternoon, my big boy Lucas had his very first soccer practice and this kid did GREAT!!! The particular team we put him on starts them at 3 and at first I thought this was too young, but we figured well lets just give it a try. For weeks now, Les and I have been pumping up soccer and getting Lucas real excited practicing at home (in our basement since so hot outside) and buying him all the soccer goods. Lucas has been totally pumped for his "soccer team" as he calls it. For his first practice, we met the totally nice coach and the 6/10 players we hadn't met yet. What makes this season even more fun is that 3 of Lucas' good friends Sean, Owen and Gabe are on his team (well, us moms did sort of plan it that way). These boys were so excited to not only play some soccer, but kick the ball to each other, it was adorable to watch. Les and I had smiles on our face the entire time. Lucas had so much fun and did amazingly well for his first real practice. He sort of just new exactly what to do out there. We are so proud of our little Lucas and absolutely can't wait for the real games. Today, as Lucas and I were driving past the soccer field he said "mommy, I want to play soccer everyday"....I hope he keeps up that spirit!
