Lucas just completed his first session of ice skating (pre-ice hockey) lessons. This was an 8 week course that taught him the basics of ice skating, called Snow Plow 1. He learned how to essentially stand on skates and start sliding the skates around. They also learned some basic skating moves and especially how to get up once fallen, which they did a lot of, haha! Lucas loved ice skating more then I ever thought he would and I was so proud of him. Each week, he could not wait to lace up those skates and get out there. He would even stay after the lesson some to practice. I pretty much had to pull him off the ice as the rest of us watching would become frozen popsicles, ha! I was pretty impressed with Lucas' balance and coordination on the skates from the very beginning. During the last couple sessions, Les grabbed some skates and joined Lucas at the end...was so cute to watch them out there together. Unfortunatly, I did not get many pictures of Lucas (and Les) in action. If I wasn't watching, I was chasing Sam around and keeping him off the ice, ha! Hopefully, next session I will be back at taking the excessive pictures I normally take! :) Lucas will have 3 more regular ice skating sessions before he can start playing around with the hockey stick.
